The artist
A lifelong attention to the natural world
Born in Cheshire and formally trained at the Royal College of Art, Tunnicliffe became one of Britain’s most widely recognised wildlife artists and illustrators. He moved to Malltraeth on Anglesey in 1947, making the island and its bird life central to his mature work.
