Please contact the Estate before reproducing or adapting a work where permission may be required.
A careful assessment
UK guidance states that copyright in most artistic works usually lasts for 70 years after the author’s death. On that general basis, qualifying works by Charles Tunnicliffe may remain protected until the end of 2049. That is a working starting point, not a conclusion about every work or image.
Rights in an original artwork, a photograph or scan of it, a published edition, typography and other material can be distinct. Ownership and historic agreements can also affect who is able to grant permission.
The Estate records and investigates the applicable rights position for each request. This website does not assert that the Estate owns every right in every work or reproduction.
Fees
The Estate does not publish a general price list at present. Fees, where applicable, are assessed against the nature, scale, territory, duration and commercial context of the proposed use. No figures shown in development demonstrations are approved Estate rates.
